Success Story: How Sunstall Moved a Solar Array with Zero Breakage

Business Challenges: Solar Panel Transportation, Solar Panel Breakage

The Sunstall team uses PVpallet Series X to move a client’s solar array.

About Sunstall

Founded in 2011, Sunstall provides exceptional services for a wide variety of commercial and utility scale solar installation projects. They use their extensive knowledge about installing solar projects to deliver quality in every aspect of their business. Sunstall’s commitment to the environment has led them to develop standards and provide solutions that ensure sustainable business practices.

Situation

Sunstall is committed to providing exceptional service to their customers. When Sunstall was asked to move a client’s solar array from one location to another, they needed a solution that would ensure the solar panels were damage free for reinstallation. “Basically, we had to take everything down from the current site and rebuild it at the new location,” said Helge Biernath, CEO of Sunstall. “Keeping things organized and damage free was essential to the success of the project.”

Solution

When determining the best way to move the array for their client, Helge asked his team to look at PVpallet. “I had heard about PVpallet’s solar panel pallet a couple years ago at a conference in Arizona,” explained Helge. “I felt like their pallet was the solution we needed.” Sunstall procured two PVpallet Series X units for their project and watched the training videos provided by PVpallet to ensure they used the pallets properly.

“We had zero broken modules, which was exactly the goal. The pallets served their purpose. The customer was very happy.”

Results

PVpallet Series X allowed Sunstall to deliver on their commitment to quality and exceptional service. “We had zero broken modules, which was exactly the goal. The pallets served their purpose,” said Helge. “The customer was very happy and PVpallet made our company look more professional and organized than if we had just thrown the solar panels on a wood pallet.” To Sunstall, the investment in the pallets was well worth it.

Future

As the industry matures, Sunstall is seeing more reinstallation projects—and more opportunities to use their pallets. “Now we have an effective, organized way to manage solar panels during future reinstallation projects.” said Helge “They’re in our warehouse, ready for reuse.”
